Ask Questions Across Your Google Drive.
Contracts, plans and spreadsheets, read alongside the Slack threads where they were discussed. Every file keeps the sharing it has in Google: if you can’t open it in Drive, it won’t appear in your answers.
- Connected by
- Each teammate, their own Drive
- Reads
- Folders you choose
- Permissions
- Per file, from Google
- Re-reads
- Daily
- Access
- Read-only
What notice period does our standard contractor agreement give?
Thirty days’ written notice from either side. The template moved from fourteen to thirty days in the April revision, and legal confirmed it applies to renewals too.
Docs, Sheets, Slides and the Files in Between
Nothing is read until a folder is picked. Then the files inside it are read in the background, and re-read every day.
What it reads
- Google Docs, Slides and Sheets, with every tab of a sheet
- PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, HTML and plain text files
- Files directly inside the folders you pick, plus loose files in My Drive if you choose that option
- Each file’s sharing list, re-read on every sync
What it skips, and its limits
- Shared Drives aren’t reachable yet.
- “Shared with me” files that aren’t in your My Drive can’t be selected.
- Subfolders aren’t included automatically. Pick each folder you want.
- Images, audio, video, scanned PDFs, files over 20 MB and old .doc, .xls and .ppt files are skipped. Sheets are read up to 2,000 rows per tab.
Every File Keeps Its Google Sharing
Google only gives a file’s full sharing list to its owner. So instead of one shared connection, each teammate connects their own Drive, and every file’s permissions are read by the person who owns it.
- People on the file
- Teammates the file is shared with by email can find it in answers. Nobody else can.
- Your company’s domain
- A file shared with your whole Google domain is visible to teammates on that domain.
- Groups and links stay hidden
- A group or link share grants nothing in scri8e. A file shared only that way is visible to its owner and nobody else. scri8e won’t guess.
