Scri8e
Last updated 18 October 2026

The terms, in language you can actually read.

scri8e is early-access software that reads the tools you connect and answers questions about them. You keep ownership of your content, we keep it separated from everyone else’s, and either side can end the arrangement. The parts we cannot promise yet are named rather than buried.

What you are agreeing to use

scri8e indexes the Slack, Google Drive and Notion sources a workspace connects, and answers questions about them with the sources cited and an indication of how old those sources are.

It is read-only. It answers; it does not act on your behalf. Asking from inside Slack and an endpoint your own AI tools can query are both planned rather than shipped, and nothing on this site should be read as promising a delivery date for either.

Your account and your workspace

The first person to sign up for a workspace owns it. Owners and admins can invite people, change roles and control what the workspace indexes; members can ask questions and manage their own Google Drive connection. A workspace always has at least one owner.

You are responsible for who you invite. Inviting somebody to a workspace gives them the ability to ask questions across everything that workspace has indexed, subject to the per-document permissions described in the Privacy Policy.

Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. Tell us if you think an account has been compromised.

Your content stays yours

Connecting a source does not transfer ownership of anything. Your messages and documents remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service: to read what you have scoped, store it so it can be searched, and send the relevant excerpts to the language-model provider that writes an answer.

We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train models. Where your content goes, and which third parties are involved, is set out in the Privacy Policy rather than summarised loosely here.

What you agree not to do

  • Connect a source you are not authorised to connect, or use scri8e to reach content you are not entitled to see.
  • Try to get around the permission checks, or access another workspace’s data.
  • Resell or repackage the service as your own.
  • Attack the service, or use it to break the law or anyone else’s rights.

scri8e does not grant new access. For Slack and Google Drive it mirrors the permissions in the source tool as of the latest sync, so someone who can open a document from those tools in scri8e could open it where it lives when that sync ran. Notion’s API does not say who a page is shared with, so every Notion page you share with the scri8e integration is visible to everyone in your scri8e workspace; share only what all of them may read. Uploads are visible to the people the uploader chooses.

What it costs

scri8e is priced by the size of the workspace: the Team plan is $99 a month for up to 15 people, and the Business plan is $249 a month for up to 50. Above 50 people, we agree a price with you directly. There is no per-seat charge within a plan and no annual commitment.

A workspace that is full cannot add more people until its owner moves to a larger plan; nobody already in it is removed. Moving up takes effect at once: the unused days of the current plan are credited and a full month of the new plan is charged that day, and the billing date moves to that day. Moving down costs nothing that day; the lower price applies from the next renewal.

You are billed monthly in advance, in US dollars, through Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, and the subscription renews each month until you cancel. These are the current early-access prices and may change; a new price never applies to you without notice first.

You can cancel at any time and we refund the unused part of the current month, pro-rated by day. How that works, and how long it takes, is on thecancellation and refundspage.

There is no free trial. A workspace can use scri8e once its owner subscribes, and for as long as the subscription is active. If a monthly charge fails, access continues for 7 days while the card is updated; after that, or once a subscription ends, the workspace is closed until it is subscribed again. A closed workspace keeps what has been indexed. To erase it, the owner deletes the workspace from Settings once no subscription is set to renew, as the Privacy Policy describes.

Early access, and what that means

scri8e is early. We are onboarding a small number of teams at a time so each one gets set up properly. That has consequences worth stating rather than hiding in a warranty clause:

  • There is no uptime commitment. We will not pretend otherwise.
  • Features can change, and some can be withdrawn if they turn out not to work.
  • Answers are generated by a language model. They cite their sources and flag their age, but they can still be wrong, and you should check anything consequential against the source.
  • There is no SOC 2 report yet.

Ending it

You can stop at any time; cancelling and refunds are covered on the cancellation and refunds page. Disconnecting a source lets you choose whether to keep what has already been indexed or delete it, and deleting is not reversible.

We may suspend or end access if the terms above are broken, or if we have to stop running the service. If we ever shut it down, we will give you notice and a way to get your data out rather than simply turning it off.

No warranty

scri8e is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that its answers will be complete or correct. Decisions you make on the strength of an answer are yours; check anything that matters against the source it cites.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or damage to reputation, arising from your use of scri8e or from not being able to use it.

Our total liability for any claim connected with scri8e is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud.

If a claim is brought against us

If someone brings a claim against us because you connected a source you weren’t authorised to connect, uploaded content you had no right to share, or did something on the list above of things you agree not to do, you will cover the reasonable costs and losses that claim causes us. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in how it is handled.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will email the owners of your workspace at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page. If you don’t agree with a change, you can cancel before it applies and the refund works the way the cancellation and refunds page describes. Small corrections that change nothing for you, such as fixing a typo, may be made without notice.

Governing law, and who we are

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Before going to court, write to us; most problems are quicker to fix in an email.

scri8e is operated by Niket Shah, trading as scri8e, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is not an incorporated company yet, so these terms are an agreement with an individual rather than with a registered entity. That will change once incorporation completes, and we will say so here when it does.
